Vision & Values

Vision and associated values

'Small but Mighty'

Marsh Baldon CE Primary School is a small but remarkable school set in a unique rural setting just a few minutes from the multicultural city of Oxford. We are a fully inclusive school, welcoming children of all abilities, circumstances and world views to join us. Children and staff are cherished as respected individuals, each with a unique contribution to make to our community.

Our Vision

We aspire for all to:

  • Flourish as unique, respected individuals
  • Love learning, and aim for excellence
  • Be confident, free thinkers who manage setbacks and take risks
  • Be spiritual and embrace Christian values, so that they grow a deep sense of themselves and their responsibilities to the world

‘I came to give life, life in all its fullness' John 10:10

Our associated values, rooted in biblical teaching, are:

    Integrity

Let your eyes look straight ahead; fix your gaze directly before you.

Give careful thought to the paths for your feet and be steadfast in all your ways.

    Proverbs 24:25-26

    Respect

‘Love your Neighbour as you love yourself’

    Mark 12:31

    Equality

So there is no difference between Jews and Gentiles, between slaves and free people, between men and women; you are all in union with Christ Jesus.

    Galatians 3:28

    Cooperation

So then, we must always aim at those things that bring peace and that help to strengthen one another.

    Romans 14:19

    Love

Love is patient and kind; it is not jealous or conceited or proud; love is not ill-mannered or selfish or irritable; love does not keep a record of wrongs, love is not happy with evil, but is happy with the truth. Love never gives up and its faith, hope, and patience never fail.

    1 Corinthians 13: 4-8a

    Courage

The LORD is my shepherd, I lack nothing.  He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake.  Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

    Psalms 23:1-4

Our Christian Vision has been developed by:

Our Christian Vision and associated values have been developed over time and in close partnership with local clergy, staff, parents and governors. The vision was most recently revisited in September 2021 and rewritten between September and December 2021. Further training since January 2022 for staff and governors in spirituality and Christian uniqueness has informed the implementation of the newly revised vision. The vision statement should be read in conjunction with key school policies and plans.
