Coronavirus information for week commencing 16th March 2020

Dear Parents,

We wish to update you on staffing and arrangements for this week.

Mrs Wakefield has developed a cough and is feeling unwell so she will self isolate for 7 days in line with government advice.

Please could I remind you that if your child develops a cough or flu-like symptoms that they should be self-isolated for 7 days? They should only return to school when they are fully recovered.

Another reason for self-isolating your child may be that you are concerned that an infection may endanger someone considered to be at high risk in your home. In this case, it is important that your child remains at home whilst they are absent from school. Please contact the school to explain the absence.

As directed by the government, we will endeavour to keep the school open. Most supply teaching agencies are not offering cover to schools where people have displayed symptoms so we will be using our own staff to cover classes.

This means that, from tomorrow, children in Class 3 will be taught by me, Teaching Assistants and, at times, other teachers in the school. Please bear with us.

Please note the following steps that we will be taking in school in order to reduce the spread of any infection:

  • There will be no whole school assemblies until further notice
  • Children and staff exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19 will be isolated in the Library
  • Isolated children should be collected by parents ASAP
  • All areas an isolated child may have had contact with will be cleaned

Many thanks for your continued support and understanding. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Best wishes

Beccy Harris
